A Light in Every Window is inspired by a real-life incident in Billings, Montana in the 1990’s, when a community came together to support Jewish families after bigoted attacks targeted a family with a Hanukkah menorah in the window of their home. The local newspaper printed a picture of a menorah that non-Jewish neighbors put in their own windows to show that we are all part of the same family.
